Acquisition of Microwave Circuits Expands Filter Capabilities

GCG Broadens its Range of Innovative Filter Solutions

Gowanda Components Group is pleased to announce that its capabilities for the design and manufacture of RF and microwave filters are expanding in connection with the acquisition of Microwave Circuits from AMTI in Lynchburg, VA.

“Microwave Circuits’ designs and technologies complement those of our TTE Filters business unit,” said GCG CEO Don McElheny. “The synergy in our capabilities and applications will enable us to offer a broader range of innovative filter solutions to design engineers in commercial, medical, microwave, military, space and other markets around the world.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but GCG has stated that Microwave Circuits’ production facilities will remain in Beltsville, MD and sales & technical support will remain in Lynchburg.

Butler Winding Acquired to Expand Inductor Capabilities

Gowanda Electronics’ parent company recently acquired Butler Winding in Butler, PA.

Gowanda, NY (USA) – Gowanda Electronics, a business unit of Gowanda Components Group (GCG), is pleased to announce that its capabilities for the design and manufacture of inductors and other passive components are expanding in connection with its parent company’s acquisition of Butler Winding in Butler, PA.

GCG CEO Don McElheny stated, “Butler’s products and capabilities complement Gowanda’s and give us the opportunity to enhance and grow our high performance inductor offerings in the global marketplace.  The synergy in our designs and applications will enable us to provide a broader range of innovative passive component solutions to design engineers in commercial, medical, microwave, military, space and other markets around the world.”

TTE Introduces Bias Tees at Microwave Symposium (IMS2015)

High Frequency, High Current and Standard Designs – to 40 GHz – for Signal Processing Applications

 

TTE will introduce a new line of Bias Tees at IMS2015. The line includes three series:

  • BTHF – high frequency series for 10 MHz to 40 GHz
  • BTHC – high current series for 500 MHz to 4 GHz and current handling to 7 A DC
  • BTS – standard series for 10 MHz to 18 GHz

All three series provide very low insertion loss, minimal return loss, desirable VSWR characteristics and extremely flat gain response over the series-specific frequency ranges. The products are manufactured using high-quality components and processes to deliver superior broadband performance. A summary data table is provided below. RoHS-compliant parts are available upon request.

TTE Hires David Zavac as Sales Manager

Meet Dave Zavac at IMS 2015 Booth #717

TTE Filters announces the hiring of David Zavac as Sales Manager. Zavac worked for TTE for almost 18 years before leaving the company to pursue other opportunities in 2012. TTE Filters has rehired him to oversee the company’s sales, customer relations and sales channels.

“Dave is well known to many individuals and organizations in the signal processing and communication industry. Many of our customers have already mentioned how happy they are to know he has returned to TTE since they appreciate his work ethic, follow through and attention to detail,” said Claude Badawy, President at TTE.

The Lowpass Chebyshev LC9S Passive Filter Series Addresses the Need for Off-The-Shelf Convenience

TTE has been manufacturing filters in the USA since 1956 and has particular expertise in short lead times.  Expedited lead time as short as 3-5 days is available on many built-to-order filter designs.  TTE’s new LC9S is a high quality filter series offered from inventory with competitive pricing and same day shipment.  This series addresses the market need of customers requiring immediate delivery – when 3 to 5 days is not fast enough.

The 9-pole filters in the LC9S Series deliver fast roll-off, an insertion loss of 1.0dB maximum and 50 Ohm terminations.  Nine part numbers are available, each at a specific -1dBc passband frequency, from 30 MHz to 3 GHz. Read more

TTE to Exhibit at electronica 2014 in Germany

TTE Filters will participate in electronica 2014, the 26th international trade fair for electronic components, systems and applications. TTE’s RF and microwave filters will be on display at Exhibit Hall B6 – Booth 223.  RF and power inductors from Gowanda Electronics and EMI/RFI filters from Instec Filters will also be displayed.  All three companies are affiliates of Gowanda Components Group.

Gowanda and TTE Join Forces to Grow Electronic Components Business

Gowanda Electronics inductors and TTE RF microwave filters will be featured at the International Microwave Symposium (IMS2014), Booth 441, in Tampa Bay, June 3-5, 2014.

Gowanda is teaming up with its recently acquired sister company, TTE, to offer a broader range of electronic components to the global design engineering community.  TTE designs and manufactures RF and microwave filters for critical markets including defense and test & measurement.  Gowanda designs and manufactures high performance RF and power inductors for applications in similar markets.

TTE has been manufacturing electronic components since 1956.  Initially offering LC filters in the range of 5 Hz to 100 kHz, the company’s current-generation RF and microwave filters are available for any frequency from 0.1 Hz to 26 GHz, and to 40 GHz in some instances.  Complete news release.
